Frequently Asked Questions
What does Know Polyhydramnios do?
We support new research of Polyhydramnios so that we can establish a standard of care for poly moms and help poly babies get the proper testing and early interventions that will help them thrive.
Is my donation tax deductible?
Know Polyhydramnios was incorporated on July 22, 2021 in the Commonwealth of Virginia and submitted IRS Form 1023-EZ seeking recognition as a tax exempt organization described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code to the Internal Revenue Service on July 23, 2021. The application is currently pending. When the IRS approves an exemption application submitted on Form 1023, exempt status is recognized back to the date the organization was created. Therefore, while this application is pending, contributors to Know Polyhydramnios do not have advance assurance of deductibility for tax purposes and should consult with their personal tax advisors before making a contribution. If Know Polyhydramnios ultimately qualifies for exemption, contributions to Know Polyhydramnios will be tax-deductible by the donor.
How does my donation help?
We use donations to fund research. Research is the necessary tool that we need to be able to help more moms and babies. When we understand more about how Polyhydramnios works and why it happens, then we can make the right decisions to provide the best support for moms and babies.
How much does one research project cost?
Research projects range on average between $15,000 to more than $100,000.
Isn't there a better way to support Poly moms and babies?
We best support poly babies by learning what causes their Polyhydramnios. When we pinpoint the cause, we develop better screening tests and implement correct interventions. We support poly moms by providing a standard of care for them during pregnancy. Research helps us understand more about the risks of polyhydramnios so that we can develop a gold standard.
